About the role

Ena Barclay Academy of Excellence is advertising the post of Bursar (EIGS/BR3).

Application should be submitted on or before October 27, 2026 to the following email addresses: Region2@moey.gov.jm and enabarclay.academyofexcellence.sts@moeschools.edu.jm. Experience: at least three (3) years on the first route, at least eight (8) years on the second.

a) Specific knowledge Required:

  • Knowledge of FAA Act and Government of Jamaica Procurement Procedure.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Officer Operations and selected Accounting software.
  • Knowledge of electronic banking techniques

Core functions

  • To manage the financial and accounting affairs of the institution in a prudent manner in keeping with Government's fiscal provisions.
  • To develop local instruments to enhance financial control and promote standards procedures for the institution.
  • To provide accurate and timely financial information for the School Board and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information.
  • To administer the financial resources of the institution in accordance with Government regulations and the provisions of the Financial Administration and Auditing Act and provide supervision for the Corporate Services of the institution.

b) Qualifications and Experiences

  • First Degree in Business/Accounting from a recognized institution or ACCA Level 2 , MIND Certificate in Government Accounting with at least three (3) years' experience working in an institution of similar standard.
  • OR
  • Completion of a Certificate/Diploma/Associate Degree in Government Accounting, other relevant Financial Management Courses and at least eight (8) years' experience. Plus Training in Procurement Guidelines and Government Accounting would be advantageous.
