About the role

North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA) is advertising the post of Hospital Attendant (HSC/HS 1).

Hospital Attendant (HSC/HS 1 – Level 1) - VACANT (Salary range $990,843 – 1,177,801 per annum)

Summary Under the general direction of the Hospital Administrator , the Hospital Attendant ensures clean and safe environment for patients and staff through the infection control policy and procedures

What you’ll do

  • Required to transport patients to Out-patients clinics, Casualty, to the Wards, for laboratory and x -ray
  • Required to lift and support patients who are unable to walk
  • Assigned to work with ambulance service periodically
  • Required to deliver items from one area of the hospital to another
  • Required to assist in maintaining the hospital buildings and compound by assisting in the cleaning of
  • Required to empty and clean all garbage receptacles and replace them in their appropriate areas

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

  • School leaving certificate (secondary)
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity

Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Be physically fit and able to bend, stand and lift
  • Knowledge of excellent customer service delivery
  • Knowledge of lifting techniques
  • Knowledge of organizing and prioritizing work
  • Working Knowledge of Health Hazards
