Marcus Garvey Technical High School began in 1971 as St. Ann's Bay Junior Secondary School, with 14 teachers and 780 students.
It was renamed in 1975 to honour Jamaica's national hero Marcus Garvey and became a technical high school in 1987.
Since 2012 it has operated across two campuses: the Mansfield (junior) campus for grades 7-8, and the Seville Road senior campus for grades 9-11, now also offering occupational associate degrees.
Written from MGHS’s own public pages, with a source for every fact.
